Welcome to a space where understanding meets empathy, where your struggles are acknowledged and your strengths are celebrated. Specializing in stress management, coping strategies, and relationship issues, we'll explore the roots of your stress, work toward mending the strains in your relationships, and transform painful experiences into growth.
The first session will be mostly my learning about your journey to this point and what you hope to gain from counseling. We'll explore beliefs you hold to be true about yourself to empower you to create positive changes in thinking. I'll help you assess your core values (sense of worth, priorities, etc.) so you can create a life filled with joy and purpose. We will brainstorm on coping strategies and develop goals to work toward between sessions.
Initially, I like to see clients weekly for about a month, then biweekly, then as needed to help you stay on track with your goals. Ultimately, I hope teach you effective coping skills so that you can feel empowered to create the changes you desire no matter what situation or life challenge you may face in the future.
I am warm, empathic and supportive. I will encourage you to challenge your way of thinking while offering perspective to help you gain insight. I will assign "homework" with the expectation that you will put in the effort to do it between sessions so we can further identify issues/concerns. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology and mindfulness as tools to help you find your path.
